How can we help?

Answers to the most frequent questions about sending, downloading, your account and the security of your files.

Getting started

Back to topics
What is Misi.Link?

Misi.Link is a service for sending large files: videos, photos, projects, archives… You add your files, get a link or send them directly by email, and your recipients download them from their browser, with nothing to install.

How do I send files?
  1. On the home page, click Files or Folders, or drag and drop them into the window.
  2. Choose Get a link or Send by email (“…” button for options).
  3. Click Transfer. Keep the page open until the upload is complete.

When it’s done, the link is shown with a QR code; in email mode, each recipient receives their own personal link.

Do I need an account?

No. Without an account, you can send up to 5 transfers and 0 B per day; your email address is simply confirmed with a code the first time.

A free account (no password: a code sent by email is all you need) also gives you your contacts and tracking of your transfers. Paid plans add the full history, larger sizes and longer durations, request links and branded pages.

How much can I send?
  • Free: up to 64 GB per transfer.
  • Pro: up to 250 GB per transfer.
  • Business: unlimited per transfer.

The number of files is unlimited. For very large transfers, use a stable connection: files are uploaded in chunks and the upload resumes on its own after a network drop.

How long do my files stay available?

You choose the duration in the options (“…”): up to 90 days on Free, 180 days on Pro and 365 days on Business. After that date, the files are permanently deleted from our servers and the link no longer works.

Can I send an entire folder?

Yes: click Folders or drag the folder into the window. The folder structure is preserved: your recipients find it in the downloaded ZIP archive.

Sending

Back to topics
How do I protect a transfer with a password?

Before sending, open the options (“…”) and enter a password, or click the icon to generate one. Your recipients will need to enter it to access the files.

The password is not included in the emails: share it by another means (phone, text message).

Can I make files disappear after they are downloaded?

Yes: turn on Delete after download in the options. The transfer is deleted after the first download; for an email transfer, once every recipient has downloaded the files.

Can I share the link before the upload is complete?

Yes, in “Get a link” mode: the link appears as soon as the upload starts. Your recipients see the progress live and can download as soon as everything has arrived.

My upload was interrupted: do I have to start over?

No. After a simple network drop, the upload resumes automatically. If the tab was closed or the computer turned off, come back to Misi.Link with the same browser, within 36 hours: an “Upload interrupted” banner appears. Add the same files again: only the missing parts are uploaded.

Why do I have to confirm my email address?

Without an account, we send you a 6-digit code the first time you use a sender address. This prevents anyone from sending files while pretending to be you. Once you are signed in to your account, this step disappears.

How do I know if my files have been downloaded?

Enter your email address when sending: you receive a confirmation email, then another one at the first download. With a paid plan, you can be notified of every download and see the details (date, recipient) in My account.

How do I delete a transfer before it expires?

Use the Delete this transfer link in the confirmation email, or the Delete button in My account if you were signed in. The files are deleted immediately and the link shows that the transfer has been deleted.

Downloading

Back to topics
How do I download files sent to me?

Open the link you received and click Download all. Multiple files are bundled into a ZIP archive; a single file is downloaded as is. No account or software is required.

The link no longer works. Why?

The transfer has most likely expired, been deleted by the sender, or been erased after a first download (an option chosen by the sender). The files can then no longer be retrieved: ask the sender to send them to you again.

I’m asked for a password I don’t have.

The sender has protected their transfer. The password is never included in the email: ask them for it directly.

The download is slow or stops.

Check your connection and try again: the link stays valid until its expiry date, so you can restart the download as many times as needed. For a very large file, prefer a wired connection or stable Wi-Fi, and keep enough free space on your disk.

Are the files I receive safe?

Files are delivered exactly as the sender uploaded them. Only open those that come from people you know, and be wary of unexpected executable files (.exe, .app, .bat…).

Account and sign-in

Back to topics
How do I sign in? I don’t have a password.

That’s normal: there is no password to remember. Enter your email address, then the 6-digit code you receive (valid for 10 minutes), or simply click the Sign in button in the email. Your account is created automatically the first time you sign in, or with your first transfer from an address confirmed by code.

I’m not receiving the sign-in code.

Wait a minute and check your spam folder. Also check the spelling of your address. If nothing arrives, request a new code a few minutes later (the number of requests is limited for your security).

Where can I find my transfers?

In My account: your active transfers, their expiry date and the number of downloads. Transfers sent while not signed in are also saved there, once your address has been confirmed by code.

What are contacts for?

The addresses you send files to are saved and suggested as soon as you type a recipient. You can remove them one by one or clear them all in My account.

How do I change the site language?

The site is displayed in your browser’s language. To change it, click the globe at the top right of the page.

How do I delete my account?

Write to us from your account address at contact@misiraca.com. If you have a subscription, cancel it first from My account.

Plans and subscription

Back to topics
What are the differences between the plans?
  • Free: 64 GB per transfer, available for 90 days.
  • Pro (5.90 €): 250 GB per transfer, 180 days, full history, tracking of every download, request links, branded pages, automatic reminders, no ads.
  • Business (9.90 €): everything in Pro, unlimited per transfer, 365 days, and a team of 10 accounts.

Full details are on the Pricing page.

How do I subscribe and pay?

Sign in, then choose a plan on the Pricing page. Payment is made by card on the secure page of our payment provider Stripe: we never see or store your card number. The subscription is monthly, with no commitment; you can also pay yearly, with one month free, and switch to yearly billing at any time from My account.

Where can I find my invoices?

In My account, under Invoices, or from Manage subscription. Your company name, address and EU VAT number are entered at checkout and appear on your invoices; you can change them later from Manage subscription.

How do I change plans or cancel?

In My account, click Manage subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for.

Important: on that date, all your transfers are automatically deleted. You are notified by email, and you can reactivate your subscription beforehand to keep them.

What is a request link?

With a paid plan, you create a link that you give to your clients or collaborators: they upload their files there, and the files arrive directly in your account. Handy for collecting footage, photos or documents without back-and-forth emails.

Can I customize the download page?

Yes, with a paid plan: in My account › Branded pages, add your logo, your color and a background image. Your recipients see them on the download pages of your transfers and on your request links.

How does a Business team work?

The Business subscription administrator invites up to 10 people in total (including themselves) from My account › My team. Each member signs in with their own address and enjoys the Business benefits; storage space is shared. The administrator can see the team’s transfers and delete them.

Is VAT included?

Prices shown include VAT for individuals. If you are a business in another European Union country and provide a valid VAT number, the invoice is issued excluding VAT under the reverse-charge mechanism.

Security and privacy

Back to topics
Are my files encrypted?

Yes. Files are encrypted in your browser, before they even leave your computer, then stored encrypted and decrypted only in your recipients’ browser.

  • In link mode, the key is part of the link (after the # sign) and is not sent to our servers: neither Misi.Link nor the hosting provider can read your files. So always share the full link. Exception: if you ask to receive the full link by email, the key is entrusted to us just long enough to send that email, then erased.
  • In email mode, we keep the key so we can include it in your recipients’ emails.
Who can access my files?

Only people who have the link (and the password, if you set one). Links are long and random: they cannot be guessed, and our download pages are not indexed by search engines. All connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS).

What happens to my transfer after it expires?

It is permanently deleted from our storage servers: files, archives and previews. We keep no copy.

What personal data do you keep?

Only what the service needs: the email addresses of the sender and recipients, the transfer information and, for paid accounts, billing data. Cookies are used for the site to work (sign-in, language). Details are in the legal notice.

How do I report illegal content?

On the download page, click Report abuse at the bottom of the window, choose a reason and add a few details. The report is anonymous to the sender; we review it promptly and remove any illegal content.

You can also write to us at contact@misiraca.com with the link of the transfer concerned.
